[19:17] *** As for plants, sadly Cadia's plant-life has suffered greatly these past 10+ years. There are still quite a lot, but the onslaught of war has destroyed a great many of Cadia's forests and transformed many of its craggy plains into crater-strewn wastes. Even worse, quite a few of the plants had to be put to the torch thanks to the influence of the Plague God Nurgle.

[19:21] * The Valkyrie dropship suddenly begins evasive maneuvers as a bunch of what look like flame-wreathed metallic dragons swoop down out of the storm-like clouds and streak towards the dropship. Immediately the Vulture gunships flying escort peel off to engage!

[19:59] *** Meanwhile, FedComNet picks up a message - the Space Wolf battle-barge "Firemane's Fang" is moving to attack the Blackstone Fortress! Over 200 Space Marines, thousands of Cadians, and a full maniple of Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii are planning to board the Fortress and destroy it from within.
[20:00] *** The Federation Fleet has also begun its attack, trying to strike simultaneously from a different angle to force Abaddon to divide his available firepower.

[20:24] *** Anesha...big success! The plants give you a good idea of the layout of the Kasr, including all of the recent construction that's been done over the past few weeks.
[20:26] * Anesha immediately puts this information to use, telling her nephew about the layout so he can form a map.
[20:26] *** The pre-dawn sky is now filled with pinpricks of light. There's a huge space battle now going on as the last of Cadia's immobilized starships open fire with everything they have. Already you can see quite a few huge starships beginning to burn up in the upper atmosphere...and a LOT of them are Chaos vessels!

[20:44] * Nelius Raoul looks around the area, to compare it to the information Anesha gave him. They'll need to find out where to go to get the fields up and working.

[20:45] *** Around you, you all see the great buzzing, clicking machines the Adeptus Mechanicus have been so busy working on, many of which have been tied directly into massive obelisks of dark crystal that stretch up high out of sight. The chamber you're in is beyond massive.

[20:48] * OtakuRedRanger pulls out a few healing potions, elixers and other such healing stuff in case the body is alive at least
[20:50] *** You see more bodies strewn around. All of them are Human cyborgs to some degree. Some of them are only partly mechanized with just a few obvious cybernetic implants, but some are so extensively enhanced that they almost could pass as Cybermen. All of them are wearing rust-red robes decorated with circuit-patterns and wearing amulets bearing a symbol of a half-mechanical skull set within a gear.

[17:56] *** For days now Cadia's second continent has been under siege. It all began soon after the successful deflection of the "Will of Eternity"s would-be decapitation strike, for minutes later the orbital bombardment began.
[17:58] * ~ Macrocannons, melta-torpedoes, and hellfire rained from orbit. Cadian void shields buckled under the punishment. Skyshields strained. Some held. Others imploded in sun-bright flashes of light with the secondary explosions coming close behind as the incoming fire scoured the land beneath clean of life.
[18:00] * ~ The Cadian's planetary defense bastions returned fire. Kasr Kraf's defense laser silos and Skyfire missile batteries laying down constant withering barrages into the skies against the incoming Chaos dropships. Most of the shots were fired blind, but the Despoiler's forces are so numerous that accuracy doesn't matter.
[18:03] * ~ Besides, most of the initial wave are just interplanetary haulers and cargo-hulks, barely armed and crewed by recent converts, mutants, and aliens - all are little but cannon--fodder for Abaddon, sent in to take the Imperial's fire so that better forces can land.
[18:07] * ~ West of Kasr Kraf, the macrocannons of Kasr Stark finally fire one last salvo before most of the fortress-city is destroyed from below as a melta-torpedo managed to land a lucky strike, detonating the subterranean magazines, triggering a chain-reaction that gutted the city.
[18:13] * ~ North of Kasr Kraf, the crashed Dark Angel strike cruiser Sword of Defiance continued to fire her broadsides up into the sky, cutting swathes through the incoming horde and even shooting down a full-sized transport, sending its Heldrake escorts pinwheeling away like ignited fireworks.
[18:20] *** All across the continent, the defenders pray that the Despoiler's nerve will break and that the siege will be won in the skies, that the invasion will fail before anything of substance makes it to the surface.
[18:22] * ~ The southernmost defense rampart of Kasr Kraf is finally obliterated as its void shields finally fail. Additional orbital strikes quickly home in on the vulnerable area, the impacts hitting hard and unseating defense cannons the size of skyscrapers, burying hundreds beneath flaming rubble.
[18:27] * Ursarkar Creed gives immediate orders for the survivors in that region to withdraw. Kasr Kraf has yet three unbreached and lightly defended curtain walls around its central keep. There's no point in losing lives in a wasteland while the Kasr's defenses cried out for soldiers.
[18:30] *** The Cadian soldiers along the vulnerable Martyr's Rampart retreat, risking the bombardment to cross miles of open terrain to reach the safety of Kasr Kraf. At the end of the hour, only 80% of the retreating Cadians made it alive: the remainder became little more than shattered, burning vehicle wrecks and scorched skeletons. Still the Cadians fight on.
[18:33] *** Officers and commissars give instructions and soldiers rally to new defenses. The Black Templar Space Marines, however, make no move. Marshal Amalrich and his Astartes refused to move: they had chosen their ground and would defend it to the last.
[18:51] *** Meanwhile, the Battle-sisters of the Shrine of Saint Morrican maintain their own defensive vigils, doing their utmost to maintain the faith of the defenders. The Order of Our Martyred Lady refused to bow down and give up.
[18:52] * ~ However, the Cadians are getting overwhelmed. Heldrakes by the hundreds start to strafe the walls and ramparts.
[18:54] * ~ A shrill shrieking sound like thousands of suffering people fills the air near Kasr Kraf as the first Chaos Dreadclaw assault pods finally make planetfall and touch down within the city. Boarding ramps crash down and Word Bearer and Alpha Legion Chaos Marines storm into the heart of Creed's defenses.
[18:55] * ~ At first the Cadians dive them back with endless barrages of lasgun fire, but then blasphemous icons are raised high into the smoke-choked air and the fabric of reality starts to crack open.
[18:55] * ~ Daemons soon eagerly join the fighting.
[19:00] * ~ Everywhere the story is the same as the Chaos Marine's boltguns cut down the Imperials easily. Gun emplacements are quickly overrrun. Some Cadian platoons throw down their guns and try to escape, but where to?
[19:02] * ~ Most fight and die to the last, used on by the fiery sermons of their Ministorum Priests and the lethal threats and commands of the Commissars, their resolve stiffened by the reality that there's nowhere to escape to. This is what Solarchos himself once called "The Mad Minute", the time in which a soldier's only freedom is to choose how they die.
[19:07] * ~ Nowhere is the fighting fiercer than around the Shrine of Saint Morrican as the Daemons are drawn to the Battle-sister's faith like sharks to blood. To them, the Sororita's faith is both irresistible and anathema to them, and the lure of it drives them into a frenzy to try and extinguish it in the most gory and lingering ways possible.
[19:10] * ~ But the Sisters of Battle NEVER waver, never fall back. Under the twin gazes of Canonesses Genevieve and Eleanor, both sisters in title AND in reality, the Sororitas meet the daemonic swarms with boltgun and holy fire, driving ALL of the filthy and profane from the walls of the Shrine.
[19:11] * ~ For those who see the battle progress, it seems that the stains of war never mar the walls of the Shrine of Saint Morrican, driven back by the golden light playing about its gothic spires.
[19:20] *** Far to the north, the patchwork defenses of Kasr Jark shudder beneath the barrages of an Iron Warriors siege battery on the Kolarak Plains. However, the Iron Warriors are quickly overwhelmed and destroyed by a brutal counterattack spearheaded by none other than the Space Wolves. Sweeping aside everything in their path, the Fenris-born descended into the Iron Warriors' own citadel, using its own trenches and bastions as cover against the raving artillery.
[19:24] *** Meanwhile, the Kormic Ridge is under heavy attack as well. The Chaos forces there have been reinforced too and are renewing their own assault to try and overwhelm the Federation.
[19:25] *** In orbit, the Federation Fleet engages the Black Fleet directly, blowing away dozens of transports and hundreds of dropships every minute, but they're being overwhelmed just as well. Several more Federation ships are soon taking damage and two more frigates are destroyed as they become casualties of war.
[19:28] * Out of nowhere a GIGANTIC violet-colored laser blast comes SCREAMING IN, aimed right at multiple ships of the enemy fleet!
[19:32] *** Several ramshakle transports are heavily damaged and begin their long, fiery descent into Cadia's atmosphere, and several Chaos frigates and a few cruisers are either heavily damaged or destroyed outright.
[19:42] * Gigantic and sinewy limbs appear from the darkness of space to punch the enemy ships into bits! Who or what are they attached to?!
[19:43] *** Several more Chaos vessels are hammered and wrecked, but many of the ships in Abaddon's fleet are miles in length and mass in the megaton range - they're going to be some tough nuts to crack!
[19:44] * Sskt , meanwhile, are working on attacking enemy infintarly
[19:45] * Cubus Gigant fires off another shot from its chest-cannon, aiming to blast as many enemy vessels as possible. It dialed up the intensity on this shot---- it'll atomize mountains in seconds!

[19:59] *** The Night Lords quickly close the distant, blasting Sskt with insanely accurate weapons fire and pelting her armor with explosive-tipped armor piercing gyroslugs. They aren't the least bit afraid of an Ice Warrior...or much else for that matter.

[20:05] * Belderiver gets in close, his sharpened claws more than capable of cutting through opposition! Nelius, in contrast, has his Almacia Crystals transformed into battle-axes as he goes to cleave the opposition into meaty chunks!!
[20:06] *** Success! The Terminus Est has already been severely damaged before now and hasn't been fully repaired! At the battle at the Imperial shrine world of Kathur it took three direct hits from a particularly tenacious and accurate Imperial battlecruiser's nova cannon.
[20:07] *** That battlecruiser wasn't able to fire a fourth shot (that would have destroyed the entire command section of the Terminus Est) only through sheer luck.
[20:07] *** Either way, the Chaos battleship may still have structural damage to its prow section.

[20:30] *** And yes, the deformed, revolting Chaos Marines rushing towards you on the ground aren't zombies at all. They're Space Marines that dedicated themselves to the Plague God Nurgle!

[20:32] * Belderiver coats in strange dark flames, ready to cut these marines into bits!
[20:32] *** The Federation Fleet moves in alongside the Gigant, attempting to protect it. Also, the Killfrenzy is still being a persistent s[BLEEP]t of a starship.
[20:33] * ~ A bunch of Plague Marines are pulped and slashed to immobility, but quite a few of them are proving to be extremely durable and resistant to damage. Flies and the unbearable stench of decay starts to fill the area.
[20:33] * Cubus Gigant takes a moment to recover as the Drapnir and Fafnir provide backup to the Federation Fleet.
[20:34] * OtakuRedRanger manages to hold his vomit in but barely
[20:34] * Sskt keeps tyring to fight back, bleeding badly
[20:34] *** An Abh cruiser falls silent as it takes multiple hits from torpedoes...then explodes violently.
[20:35] * Belderiver puts his flames to use--- these flames are of the Sacred Dark, a holy darkness that evil cannot hope to withstand! At the same time, Nelius wreathes his Almacias in flames to purify and erase the decay.
[20:35] * Capt. David O`Cain and Megan are both putting up a hell of a mounted fight on their steeds as they slash at the Chaos Marines
[20:36] * OtakuRedRanger sets his hammer on fire, the holy nature of the hammer mutating the flames and ORR keeps smashing into Marines
[20:36] *** Meanwhile, the Venatrix, the Valrigis and two Tanar'ri Repulse-class cruisers vector in alongside a damaged Chaos cruiser, carefully matching its speed and trajectory, then maneuver in closer to the point of contact with the outer hull. Holy crap...THEY'RE BOARDING THE CHAOS SHIP!!!
[20:37] * ~ Meanwhile, on the surface of Cadia, the orbital bombardment has completely STOPPED.
[20:38] * ~ The Plague Marines continue to fight hard, losing limbs and taking frightful impacts that would kill any normal creature, but these things seem almost immune to pain.
[20:39] * Cubus Gigant sees their plan, and supports them through attacking the other vessels to draw their attention.
[20:39] * Belderiver and Nelius aren't fighting to cripple--- they're going for outright kill shots.

[20:40] * ~ Suddenly the area where you're fighting the Plague Marines starts to smell and feel even worse than before. And you hear something approaching fast - a sick droning sound.

[20:41] * Capt. David O`Cain and Megan continue to make slashing passes upon their steeds as they attack the Plague Marines
[20:42] * OtakuRedRanger sets up his signature Spell Firefly missile but keeps the fiery orbs floating and even pulls on a few of the fires from Nelius And Belderiver
[20:43] * ~ A few Plague Marines start lobbing what seem like wax-stoppered Human skulls that shatter on impact, releasing pressurized toxic sludge that burns like acid and infects anyone struck by it with a Level-1 Biohazard. PLAGUE GRENADES!!!
[20:44] <~> At the same time, THESE THINGS start swarming the air over the battle zone, opening fire with rapid-fire autocannons and blasts of disease-ridden pus and sludge!
[20:46] *** In space, Federation Imperial Guardsmen swarm into the damaged Chaos vessel (which was actually a former Imperial starship before its crew were overrun and captured and/or slain). The interior soon becomes a mind-numbing storm of crazed cultists, Chaos Marines, Federation soldiers, and hypersonic gauss rifle shards by the tens of millions.
[20:47] * OtakuRedRanger lowers one of the orbs of fire....and whacks it like someone hits a croquet ball with the mallet but a lot harder
[20:48] * ~ A few Plague Marines watch what ORR does, but don't stop their relentless assault on everyone, shooting with toxin-laden boltguns and slashing with rusting, filth encrusted blades.

[20:50] *** The Chaos Fleet continues to hammer the HELL out of the Federation and its allies. Another Warp-beam lances out and instantly vaporizes a pair of Tanar'ri Skirmishers.

[20:52] *** David and Megan are targeted by the Blight Drones. Some of them spray David and Megan's mounts with Reaper Autocannon fire, while some of the others just spray them with a sickening pus-like substance that will burn like acid if it hits...and keep burning long afterwards.
