[00:43] <Yaijinden> Yes and no. This is a history, but all histories have a touch of the mythos to them.

[00:44] * Yaijinden finds a good perching place
[00:44] <Yaijinden> Long before my time. Before any history this world really remembers.
[00:46] <Yaijinden> A royal dynasty and their followers, fleeing a galaxy-spanning cataclysm, had taken refuge on the large moon of the third planet in a backwater arm of the known culture.
[00:48] <Yaijinden> Over thousands of years, they had used their advanced methods to raise the local sapient species to a level of mental and spiritual sophistication approaching their own.
[00:48] * Simon Kerrick listens.
[00:50] <Yaijinden> History remembers it as a time of peace and prosperity, with life, culture, and society scattered all across the known solar system, knowing themselves unseen and unnoticed by the great wars waged in far-off star systems.
[00:51] <Yaijinden> It was not without its problems -- what era is? But diligence and discipline kept the darkness at bay.
[00:52] <Yaijinden> Things were good enough that when a young princess of the Moon dynasty fell in love with a young prince of the Third World, their union was actually possible -- a symbol of how far the uplifed folk had come.
[00:53] <Yaijinden> But the young prince of the Third World had an admirer, highly-placed within his court, whom he was oblivious to: the Third World's highest-placed seer and magistrix. Her love for the prince was unrequited, and in the heart were the seeds of envy... which festered into jealousy.
[00:54] <Yaijinden> In time, stewing in her jealousy, she began to heed the whispers coming from the darkness that was her charge. She worked hard. She was worth having. The prince could well be hers. The prince -should- be hers. The prince wanted to be hers, but had been enchanted by the wicked folk of the Moon dynasty.
[00:55] * Simon Kerrick nods.
[00:56] <Yaijinden> So she plotted insurrection, recruiting others jealous of the Moon dynasty's prosperity -- chief among them, the prince's four generals -- and when the time was ripe, called out to a herald of the powers Beyond -- an entity known as the Metallia Force.
[00:57] <Yaijinden> An aspect of the great evil that the Moon Kingdom had fled so many eons ago, the Metallia Force heeded her call because it sought the extinguishment of the Moon Kingdom's heirs -- and the secret prize they had taken from it in their flight.
[00:58] <Yaijinden> Empowered by the Metallia Force, the sorceress raised an army of darkness and launched an attack against life. They very nearly won.
[01:00] <Simon Kerrick> And this was to get the prince?
[01:01] <Yaijinden> That was the sorceress's designs, at least in the beginning. The Metallia Force, as its payment, demanded that the sorceress secure and offer it the Moon Kingdom's greatest treasure... the Silver Imperium Crystal.
[01:01] <Yaijinden> Perhaps you've heard of the ginzuishou.
[01:02] <Simon Kerrick> Indeed.
[01:02] * David O`Cain throws the empty bottle into the recycling bin, causing the bottle to shatter
[01:03] <Yaijinden> Even with the power of the Crystal, the Moon Kingdom couldn't hold them off -- but they know that if the Metallia Force obtained it, it could well turn the tide of the war in the favor of chaos and madness.
[01:04] <Yaijinden> Subsequently, they tasked one of their greatest servants to unleash a cataclysmic weapon of mutual destruction.
[01:04] <Simon Kerrick> .......
[01:05] <Yaijinden> The Princesses of the nine worlds allowed their spirits, their Sailor Crystals, to be connected to the kharmic cycle of Earth, to perhaps reincarnate and remember the age gone past, perhaps to bring that light back into existence.

[01:05] <Yaijinden> Then, the Silence was dropped.
[01:05] <Simon Kerrick> We are not looking at them.
[01:06] <Simon Kerrick> We are looking at humans who wear their spirits.
[01:06] <Yaijinden> Reincarnations, with all the baggage that implies.
[01:06] <Yaijinden> That I'll touch in in a bit.
[01:07] <Yaijinden> As the story goes, the only planet not completely scourged of life was Earth itself... but it did everything else it had intended.
[01:08] <Yaijinden> The sorceress's army was broken; the sorceress herself, her generals, and some of her strongest lieutenants escaped the worst of it, but were forced to take refuge in a dark dimension where they could lick their wounds in peace.
[01:09] <Yaijinden> What remained of the great Human cultures of the Third Planet, in the wake of the sorceress's army's depradations, were broken such that only names and ill-kept ruins survived.
[01:10] <Yaijinden> But Humanity survived, and eventually began to rebuild... and ten thousand years later, the Sailor Senshi began to reawaken.
[01:10] <Yaijinden> Which brings us to the year 1991, nearly twenty-five years ago.

[01:11] <Yaijinden> The story is clearly not one hundred percent factual, as we now know. The other Human civilizations were forewarned that the Silence would be coming, and removed themselves from time-space, awaiting a signal from the Moon Kingdom to return.

[01:12] <Yaijinden> The Moon Kingdom was supposed to join them, but the acts of a saboteur kept them in the fight until it was too late.

[01:31] <Yaijinden> In fact, by two of the world's largest mythos systems, a human directly reincarnating as a human is actually really, really rare.
[01:31] <Masked Figure> It's why at least one religon doesn't eat cows, as they're very close in what they belive to be the cycle. It would be like risking eating your dead grandma or something

[01:33] <Yaijinden> The funny thing about all that, though, is that what you were told -is- true. It's just the outermost layer of the onion.

[01:35] <Yaijinden> Sometimes the soul lingers for a long time after death. Sometimes it is caught and transmuted into something inhuman. For the rest, though, the kharmic wheel catches, weighs, measures, and then sends the soul onwards to whatever awaits it next.
