[22:42] <UltraMatt> so Chaiyo created Chaiyo Tsuburaya..
[22:42] <UltraMatt> began plans for their own Ultraman series...
[22:42] <UltraMatt> created Ultraman toys...
[22:42] <UltraMatt> and at that point..if you wanted to get the rights to the early Ultraman..you needed to go to them
[22:43] <UltraMatt> if you check the Ultraman box sets..it says the rights go to Chaiyo Tsuburaya...
[22:43] <UltraMatt> so Tsuburaya appealed the result
[22:43] <UltraMatt> several times
[22:44] <UltraMatt> and finally...Tsuburaya won
[22:44] <UltraMatt> the paperwork Chaiyo had was pretty damn shoddy..misspelling Ultraman names..and getting dates wrong

[22:44] <UltraMatt> their TV show and toys were scrapped
[22:45] <UltraMatt> (though honestly..the Chaiyo Ultramen were awful looking)
[22:45] <UltraMatt> and one of the first things that happened US side..is that the box sets were pulled off the shelves
