Intending to become the dimension's king, he sacrificed the only woman he ever loved, Echo, to free the spirit of "Exodia the Forbidden One" from imprisonment and make it his servant.

[21:27] <Yubel> ♦ He meets up with Jesse in Yubel's castle to prove he is worthy of being king, but is defeated, feeling the pain of losing Echo a second time beforehand, and dies because losing a duel in that dimension results in death

[21:28] <Yubel> ♦ During that the duel he revealed that he intended to become the dimension's king with intent of ridding the world things such as poverty and suffering, which Yubel mocked him for. Also, it turned out that he never stopped loving Echo, and she also still loved him.

[21:31] <Hachiman> ♦ In the Japanese version, Yubel is not only evil and deranged, but also quite psychopathic. He/She knows how to manipulate others to do what he/she wants by playing on their innermost feelings and hidden desires.
[21:31] * Yaijinden wholeheaertedly suggests the expansion of clairvoyant-related capacities
[21:31] <Hachiman> ♦ Staying true to its villainous nature, he/she doesn't bind himself/herself by word: although she made a deal with Viper to bring back his son, Pierce, Yubel instead merely changed his memories so that he thought his son had never died. Yubel also throws away allies that are deemed as useless as seen with Viper and Marcel, and brutally punishes those who betray her.

[21:31] <Hachiman> ♦ In addition to the above, he/she is also quite emotionally sadistic, often enjoying picking at the insecurities of others for the above reasons or his/her own enjoyment and crushing/trivializing their hopes and ideals after he/she attempts to bond with her opponents. Despite how much Yubel mocks opponents, he/she is actually capable sincerely respecting them, though it is overshadowed by how much their suffering is enjoyed

[21:32] <Yaijinden> There are two things I have seen that I want to further investigate that you have the answers to.

[21:33] <Hachiman> ♦ Yubel's main goal is to keep Jaden to himself/herself, and he/she harms anyone that gets between him/her and Jaden. In fact, all of his/her plans revolve around getting Jaden, even taking control of the Duel Spirit dimensions was only something that he/she wanted so she could have a world with Jaden. Despite her outspoken love for Jaden, Yubel has no qualms about hurting Jaden to accomplish his/her goals or bend him to his/her will.
[21:33] <Yaijinden> One of them, Hachiman: why do you keep your two faces separate from Ying?
[21:33] <Suu> How's the restaurant going?
[21:33] <Hachiman> ♦ Initially, Yubel made comments that Jaden "belongs" to her. Yubel also doesn't care how dangerous the situations Jaden is manipulated into are (possibility of him dying during the Survival Duels, his journey into the second alternate dimension, etc.), because he/she always assumes (correctly so) that Jaden will survive.
[21:33] <Hachiman> ♦ Yubel has further been shown to have an enormously warped and sadomasochistic view of love: because love, in part, is sharing feelings, both joy and suffering, Yubel therefore legitimizes Jaden's suffering as "true love".
[21:33] <Hachiman> It's almost ready!
[21:34] <Hachiman> ♦ Yubel feels he/she has suffered greatly due to her time in space and the crash into the Earth that caused her to lose most of his/her body, and desires to share that suffering with Jaden. To that end, he/she goes out of his/her way to make him suffer.
[21:34] <Hachiman> ♦ To that end, she also openly welcomes Jaden's insults and defiance, seeing the pain she suffers as Jaden expressing his "love". She also claims that life isn't worth living without that person that one loves the most, actually shedding a tear at the thought. However, she appears unable to understand any other form of love, and dismisses any relationships in which joy and suffering are not mutual as immaterial.
